The Queen of England Can Help You Start A Small Business

Every business is meeting some need, filling some gap, or alleviating some pain that someone feels. If you’ve worked for someone in a small business before, you’ll know the owner is very passionate. They have to be. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that has nothing to do with their passion. Their passion and motivation have to be strong enough to get them through any speed bumps along the way.

The idea of owning a business is extra sexy. Having Your Own Business could mean getting up when you want, doing your own thing, not reporting to people who don’t “get it”, doing it better, et cetera. It all starts with your passion for doing a thing. Without passion for the thing you intend to do or create, then all you are doing is creating a new job for yourself. Trust me, you will hate going to the new job as much as you hated the old one. In fact, you may hate it more.

The “thing” you intend to create could be making pies, could be roasting coffee, could be working with numbers or accounting, could be traveling the world, could be wine tasting, you name it. Before making any move on quitting the job, your first step is to identify your passion.

Admittedly, our world right now is shifting to a new paradigm, one where people are opening up to creativity and manifestation of their own destiny. Daily, more and more people are taking the reigns of their lives. Still, though, lots of people are living and thinking in terms of “should” and “have to.” Examples of how this mentality presents itself are: “I have to pay the mortgage so I have to go to a job that I really don’t like because it pays the bills.” Or, “I am starting network marketing business because my family said that’s what I should do.” Business owners with this mindset will surely close quickly because they started from this “should” or “have to” mindset. There is no deep creative passion.

To get to the core of your passions, ask yourself the “Queen of England” questions.

Imagine the Queen of England. Every day she has complete financial freedom, can do anything in the world (literally) and has education and ability to learn how to create anything she desires. Her decisions, from what she has for breakfast to how she spends her time during the day, are influenced primarily by the answer to the questions: What do I love? How am I going to have a positive impact in the world with what I love?

To get to the core of your passions pretend you are the Queen of England and ask yourself the same questions from the same mindset: You have complete financial freedom, the ability to do anything and go anywhere and the ability to learn anything.

  • What do you really, really love?

  • How are you going to create something in the world by doing what you love?

  • If money is no object, what will you do to bring your dream to reality?

With your passions clearly illuminated, you’re on the right track to creating the business, and life, of your dreams.
