I want to know how to register a UK website address and email for Starting Up A New Business, please help!?

I am looking at starting up a business in the UK and need to know (in simple terms) how to go about registering a company website and also an email for the business. THANKS!

Hello there..

Fortunately today this is my second answer to a similarlar question where someone needs more information about starting a website on UK network.

Well, I will try to explain from scratch so that it clears all doubts if any..

To have a website online, you need to have a domain registered and a website space where you can upload your data. Most web hosting companies such as http://www.webhost.uk.net offer both the services (domain registration and website hosting) on their website.

You need to first search the available domain names and choose one that suits your business. Domain registration for normal tld domains such as .com, .org,.net etc is valid for one a minimum of one year whereas for .co.uk you need to register them for a minimum of two years.

Once you have registered your domain name, you need to decide what will be the content that you will be hosting on your website. For eg, if you intend to host normal .html or .php pages with mysql databases, then you may go for a simple linux web hosting plan. But if you intend to host .net content with mssql then you need to go with Windows hosting plan.
There are several companies like I mentioned earlier http://www.webhost.uk.net which offer hosting both on linux and windows servers. Linux plans are cheap as compared to Windows plans due to the licensing costs for OS and database servers.

Further more, if you intend to register a UK limited company there are several websites such as http://www.4business.com that offer online registration of your UK limited company.

I see people have suggested 1and1 for web hosting needs, but if you search the web, you will find plenty of bad reviews for that company due to lack of quality support. Hence, before you choose a company make sure it has a good reputation on web which will guarantee you a peace of mind while hosting your websites in future.
