Why Office Cleaners Come and Go

In the contract Cleaning Industry a good Office Cleaner is hard to find, and when you do find a good one unfortunately they don’t normally stay around too long.   So when clients ask the question “Are we going to have the same cleaners throughout the contract?” any cleaning company who answers “Yes” to this question are not being realistic.  Office cleaners come and go, that’s a fact.   

Remember, cleaners normally earn the minimum wage.    Cleaning companies are guilty of paying their staff as little as possible, so if someone can earn more per hour elsewhere who can blame them for moving on?    Younger people in Cleaning Jobs stick around long enough until their university or college course finishes, or until something better comes along.     Then there’s the folk that float from job to job and often prove to be very unreliable.  They either get sacked for bad timekeeping, for upsetting the client or for poor cleaning standards or they just get fed up and leave.    They can always get a job with another cleaning company.     Dependable cleaners can be semi retired ladies or gentlemen that don’t particularly need to work but just like to keep themselves busy.   Mothers that work to fit around their kids attending school can also be good employees.

Cleaners are transient for many different reasons and unfortunately some cleaning companies just don’t motivate their cleaning staff or give them any reason to be faithful to their employer.
